Things We’re Currently Obsessed With

  1. Bouldering.  We’ve joined the Seattle Bouldering Project.  We got a bit overzealous and sustained a couple of injuries from overuse.  Then learned that this is a common issue.  I feel that I have finally found an activity that allows me to achieve my full monkey potential.  And Colin likes it because he’s irritatingly good at things like this and because it’s a puzzle and a challenge.  Also, don’t join.  It’s awful…just kidding.  It’s awesome, but we want it to be our little secret.  No one reads this blog anyway, right? Also, a real discussion between me and Colin: Colin – I’m interested in traditional climbing.  It’s where you can die.
Me – Well, what’s the fun if there isn’t a risk of dying?
    Colin – I know, right?
  2. Wyoming LLC’s and Charitable Trusts.  I don’t really have anything clever to say about this.  I’m sure there will be some LayRoots blog posts forthcoming about this.  With the Wyoming LLC’s…well, do you want to be completely anonymous?  It’s possible!  Do you want to safeguard your investment properties even further?  It’s possible!I listened to a podcast about altruism that discusses giving during your lifetime and committing to that lifestyle rather than promising yourself that you will give when_______ (fill in whatever goal you might decide is appropriate).  This is something like elusive happiness goals (example: I will be happy when___________.) that never truly result in happiness.
  3. The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival.  Tigers are awesome, man.  What else do you need to know?Side note: In Bengali, when you want to express that you’re a frickin boss at something, you can say “I do ________ like a tiger.” Example, “look at Danny driving like a tiger!”
