I don’t think any other industry has such a prevalence of companies being named after the person who founded it. Maybe doctors. However, I’ve met several doctors moving away from “Dr. _______’s Practice” type of names as well.
I blame it on how the business owner thinks of their business – do they really think of it as a company? Or are they just thinking of themselves out there providing a service?
